Brazilian club Botafogo have expressed an interest in signing AC Milan veteran Clarence Seedorf.
The 36-year-old has been linked with a move away from the San Siro when his contract expires at the end of the season.
"There is nothing settled or close to being settled. We will see," said Botafogo coach Oswaldo de Oliveira.
"It is too soon to talk about that, because it may not happen. The issue about Seedorf is still at an early stage, so much so to comment on it when we have a game on Sunday.
"It is clear that this is a marketing move and that the club need to take this step."
Seedorf has played for Ajax, Sampdoria, Real Madrid and Inter Milan during an illustrious 20-year playing career.
