The agent of Mainz 05 midfielder Johannes Geis says that his client is in talks with AC Milan.

Mainz 05 midfielder Johannes Geis has held talks with AC Milan, according to the player's agent.

The 21-year-old has won praise for his displays in the Bundesliga this season and has been the subject of interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

"It's true, we have been contacted by intermediaries coming from Italy," his agent Bjorn Bezemer told Kicker.

"At the moment I cannot say any more, but it is an honour for any professional football player to be of interest to a great club like Milan."

Geis joined Mainz last summer from Greuther Furth and has played for Germany at Under-21 level.
