Borussia Dortmund confirm their passage into the knockout stages of the Champions League with a 4-1 win over Ajax.

Borussia Dortmund have booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a crushing 4-1 victory over Ajax in Amsterdam.

Mario Gotze was a constant threat to the Ajax defence and slipped Marco Reus in to open the scoring in the eighth minute.

The midfielder then got his own name on the scoresheet in the 36th minute to underline Dortmund's superiority.

Robert Lewandowski then effectively put the game to bed with a third before half-time. The Polish striker doubled his tally in the 67th minute.

Danny Hoesen restored some pride to the scoreline late on, but Ronald de Boer's men had been completely outmatched.
