Belgian side Anderlecht lead Galatasaray at half time in their Champions League Group D fixture thanks to Chancel Mbemba's goal on the stroke of half time.
Aleksandar Mitrovic headed Dennis Praet's cross narrowly over the bar before Andy Najar rifled a shot from outside the area straight at Fernando Muslera in the Galatasaray goal as the home side started brightly.
Anderlecht should have taken the lead on 10 minutes when Frank Acheampong burst down the left and swung in a cross for Mitrovic, but with only Muslera to beat the Serbian striker failed to make any contact with the ball.
On 20 minutes referee Ivan Bebek was called into action when Anthony Vanden Borre was brought down by Alex Telles right on the edge of the Monaco box, but the Croatian official waved away appeals for a penalty ruling instead that the foul had occurred just outside the area.
Just after the half-hour mark Steven Defour's volley completely deceived Muslera before hitting the upright, but the home side made their pressure count when defender Mbemba headed home from Mitrovic's flick-on.
