Arsenal reportedly had Porto midfielder Andre Silva watched in last week's Champions League group match against Premier League champions Leicester City.
The 20-year-old, who is a two-time Portuguese international, was part of the Porto team that suffered a 1-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium last week.
According to O Jogo, Arsenal sent a scout to watch the midfielder's performances as they consider making a January approach for a player that has scored six times in 11 appearances this season.
Silva came through the youth system at Porto before making his B team debut in 2013. His professional record stands at nine goals in 25 first-team appearances.
