How Arsenal could line up against PSV Eindhoven

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Thursday's Europa League Group A clash with PSV Eindhoven.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could once again be without three players for Thursday's Europa League clash with PSV Eindhoven in Group A.

The Gunners travel to the Philips Stadion without Mohamed Elneny (hamstring) or Emile Smith Rowe (groin), while Marquinhos has not made the journey due to illness, but Oleksandr Zinchenko could potentially be back from a calf problem.

Arteta did not pick up any fresh concerns in the weekend's draw with Southampton, and a strong lineup should take to the field as Arsenal look to seal qualification for the last 16 with a point.

Matt Turner will still replace Aaron Ramsdale in goal, having performed well on the continent so far, while Kieran Tierney should come back on the left-hand side as Takehiro Tomiyasu shifts over to the right.

Rob Holding can expect a recall in defence alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, and the same goes for Albert Sambi Lokonga, who should demote Thomas Partey to the bench alongside Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka scored the winner in this tie last week and is one yellow card away from a suspension, but it would be ideal for the Switzerland captain to pick up that caution here and serve that ban in the final group game rather than the knockout rounds.

Martin Odegaard may cede his place in the number 10 role to Fabio Vieira, but Arteta should still continue with Bukayo Saka out wide after warning the 21-year-old that he must want to start every single game in order to become a world-beater.

Gabriel Jesus's profligacy at Southampton made it five games without a goal for the Brazilian, who started against PSV last week and should do so again here after taking part in pre-match media duties, but Eddie Nketiah should also come back into the fray here.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Turner; Tomiyasu, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Lokonga; Saka, Vieira, Jesus; Nketiah
