Mathieu Flamini has revealed that he feels as if he proved a point after scoring both goals in Arsenal's 2-1 League Cup victory at North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur tonight.
The midfielder, 31, marked his first appearance of the season in heroic fashion as he struck in both halves to secure a derby-day win at White Hart Lane.
Flamini, who re-joined the Gunners in 2013 on a Bosman, was linked with a move away during the summer, but the Frenchman feels that his brace is just desserts for his patience.
"I'm happy for the team and personally," he told Sky Sports News. "I've heard many things in the press and I am still here.
"I don't have any problems with anyone at the club. It is never easy when you don't play every game. I had a point to prove."
Arsenal, who were pegged back through Calum Chambers's own goal, will face Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round.
