Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga has been left frustrated with his lack of game time.
Lokonga joined the Gunners from Anderlecht in July 2021, but in his first season with the club, he only started 12 Premier League matches.
His playing time has failed to increase in the opening 10 Premier League games of the current campaign, having started on just two occasions.
While Mikel Arteta's side are currently top of the league table following an impressive start to the season, Lokonga has been left disappointed with his lack of minutes.
The 22-year-old told La Dernier Heure: "Honestly, it's difficult. I'm at one of the best clubs in England. I could have played somewhere else every weekend, but that wouldn't have been the right solution for me.
"It's a personal decision [to stay at Arsenal]. I wanted to give myself another year to stay at Arsenal and then see what happens.
"At the end of last season, I almost snapped. I called my agent to ask him if staying at Arsenal was a good idea. He comforted me in my choice, even though I know I need to start more often to develop."
Although Lokonga has failed to feature regularly in the Premier League, he has started all three of Arsenal's Europa League games this season, and he is expected to be involved in Thursday's home meeting with PSV Eindhoven. body check tags ::
