Mesut Ozil has claimed that he wants to take the number 10 shirt at Arsenal after it was vacated by Jack Wilshere.
The German World Cup winner has his eyes on the shirt following Wilshere's loan move to Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.
The England international faced a challenge to get minutes at the North London outfit this season due to the summer arrival of Granit Xhaka.
Ozil currently wears number 11 at the Emirates, but he believes that he deserves a number that better suits his position.
"Of course I have previously given those in charge a signal," Sport1 quotes Ozil as saying. "The number is right for me and my position as a playmaker."
The 27-year-old joined the Gunners from Real Madrid in 2013 for a £42.5m fee.
