Arsenal have lined up a new three-year contract for German international Per Mertesacker, according to a report.
The 29-year-old centre-back, who joined the Gunners from Werder Bremen in 2011, will be entering the final year of his current deal next season.
According to The Mirror, manager Arsene Wenger has been impressed by the 6'6" defender over the past nine months and is keen on tying him down to a new agreement.
Mertesacker scored in his side's recent 3-1 victory over Stoke City.
