How Arsenal could line up against Newcastle United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns to work around for Saturday lunchtime's Premier League encounter with Newcastle United.

The Gunners continue to make do without third-choice left-back Sead Kolasinac due to an ankle problem, but there could be a change in that area of the field regardless.

Nuno Tavares has benefitted from Kieran Tierney's absence in recent weeks but did not cover himself in glory during the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, so Tierney should return here.

The rest of the backline should remain unchanged, with Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes protecting Aaron Ramsdale, who once again drew praise for his performance at Anfield.

Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe continue to occupy the flanks, and the only real dilemma for Mikel Arteta is who to partner Thomas Partey with in midfield, as Granit Xhaka aims to return before the end of the year.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is pushing for inclusion on a more regular basis, but Albert Sambi Lokonga will hope to continue in the engine room for now.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang boasts nine goal contributions from eight games against Newcastle, and the Gunners captain should join Alexandre Lacazette up top again.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Saka, Partey, Lokonga, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang, Lacazette body check tags ::
