Arsenal have confirmed the arrival of defender Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old has been linked with the Gunners for a number of weeks now, although the deal stalled on numerous occasions due to Valencia's asking price - thought to be around £35m.
However, the move has now been finalised, with the German World Cup winner becoming Arsenal's second signing of the day following the arrival of Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna.
"He is at the right age. He has good experience. He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well. We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future," manager Arsene Wenger told the club's official website.
Mustafi, who will join up with his new teammates after the international break, has previous experience of English football having come through the ranks at Everton.
