Brentford are reportedly determined to keep hold of star attacker Bryan Mbeumo despite interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has spent the last five years with the Bees, scoring 53 goals and providing 42 assists in 203 appearances across all competitions.

Mbeumo recorded nine goals and six assists in 25 Premier League matches last season and has since made a bright start to the new campaign for Thomas Frank's side.

Indeed, the Cameroon international has scored three goals in as many games, netting in a 2-1 opening-weekend win over Crystal Palace before scoring twice in a 3-1 victory against Southampton prior to the international break.

Mbeumo is now considered to be a key man under Frank following the £40m departure of striker Ivan Toney to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

Brentford send out clear Mbeumo transfer message

According to Football Insider, Brentford have sent a clear signal that they have no intention of selling Mbeumo in the January transfer window.

That is despite Mbeumo attracting interest from several top Premier League clubs, with HITC reporting that Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are all keeping tabs on the attacker.

Mbeumo was allegedly the subject of a £25m bid from Nottingham Forest in the summer, but Brentford swiftly rejected the offer and are understood to value their No.19 at around £50m.

The versatile attacker, who is comfortable operating on either flank or as a central striker, is under contract at the Gtech Community Stadium until June 2026.

Mbeumo wants to play "at the best clubs"

Earlier this year, Mbeumo hinted at a potential future exit from Brentford after admitting that he is keen to "play in the biggest competitions at the best clubs".

Speaking in May during an interview with French news outlet L'Equipe, Mbeumo said: "I have spent five seasons at Brentford, at a club that has helped me grow and turn a corner.

"But yes, I want to play in the biggest competitions, at the best clubs. It's still exciting to see some of the big teams interested in me. We'll see."

Mbeumo is expected to start in attack for Brentford when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Premier League champions Man City on Saturday afternoon.
