Atletico Madrid have reportedly identified Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette as a possible replacement for the outward-bound Antoine Griezmann this summer.
Griezmann has already signalled his intent to leave the Wanda Metropolitano during the current transfer window and a move to Barcelona is understood to be edging closer to completion after his release clause dropped to £107m on July 1.
Atleti are expected to reinvest the majority of that fee into their squad, and The Mirror reports that they have now set their sights on Lacazette.
The futures of Lacazette and strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have come under scrutiny following Arsenal's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League, particularly given their modest transfer budget of £45m.
Atletico would be able to offer Lacazette Champions League football, which is likely to appeal to the Frenchman should Arsenal be open to selling him.
The 28-year-old scored 19 goals for the Gunners across all competitions last season, 13 of which came in the Premier League.
