Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has reportedly informed the Catalan giants that he plans to leave the club in the summer, with Arsenal identified as a possible destination.
The Spaniard sees his current contract at the Camp Nou expire in the summer, and, as a result, he has been linked with several sides across Europe.
According to El Nacional, Roberto has now confirmed his desire to leave to manager Xavi, with the Blaugrana reportedly not offering a new contract to the versatile midfielder.
Due to an injury suffered in October, the 30-year-old has made just nine La Liga appearances so far this season, with only four of those being starts, leading to a fractured relationship between the two parties.
He is now said to have identified the Premier League as his next destination, with Arsenal tipped to secure the Spanish international's signature on a pre-contract agreement.
Since breaking through the Blaugrana's academy, Roberto has made 316 first-team appearances in Catalonia, contributing 12 goals and 37 assists and adding six La Liga trophies, six Copa del Rey triumphs and two Champions League titles to his record. body check tags ::
