Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reportedly intends to sign Ryan Fredericks from Fulham when the right-back's contract expires at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old is said to have caught Wenger's eye with his displays in the second tier this term, having assisted seven goals in the Cottagers' march for automatic promotion.
After previously bringing in Aaron Ramsey, Rob Holding, Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall from lower-tier sides, The Sun reports that Arsenal will now attempt to acquire Fredericks in the summer.
West Ham United will provide competition, however, with scouts being sent to watch the Tottenham Hotspur youth product up close in recent weeks.
Fredericks could yet be tempted to sign a new contract at Craven Cottage should Fulham earn promotion to the top flight next month.
