Arsene Wenger is hopeful that Mesut Ozil will return to Arsenal with a confidence boost having helped Germany win the World Cup this summer.
Ozil played a prominent role in helping his nation triumph in Brazil, starting all seven of Germany's fixtures - including the 1-0 win over Argentina in last Sunday's final.
The 25-year-old, who became Arsenal's record signing following a £42.5m move from Real Madrid last September, attracted criticism for an indifferent last few months of his maiden season in North London.
However, Wenger feels that achieving World Cup glory will see the Gunners' German contingent - including Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker - come back stronger ahead of the new season.
"What is good is that [Germany] won the World Cup, so their confidence should be stronger," he told Arsenal's official website.
"We won the FA Cup with the last game of the season, they went away and won the World Cup.
"Winning makes you only stronger and more confident and hopefully we will benefit from that in the new season."
Wenger and co kick off the new season by clashing with Premier League champions Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley on August 10.
