Friday's meeting at the Stade Louis II will be the first ever match between AS Monaco and Evian TG
When hosting Monaco were relegated to Ligue 2 in the spring of 2011, it was accompanied by Evian's promotion - the first time that the club based near the Swiss border had achieved the feat.
Claudio Ranieri's Monaco go into the clash having lost for the first time in Ligue 1 this season to Lille last weekend. It was a result that saw the Red and Whites drop down to third in the standings, three points off leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Striker Emmanuel Riviere started the match in Lille on the bench, but it is expected that he will return to the starting lineup to partner Radamel Falcao for the visit of Evian. Summer signing from Sevilla, Geoffrey Kondogbia, could also be included.
Meanwhile, Evian's leading goalscorer Kevin Berigaud has been ruled out because of a thigh injury.
The visitors have won two of their five matches on the road this season, conceding 10 goals in the process.
