Lille have beaten AS Monaco 2-0 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy thanks to a brace from Nolan Roux.
Rene Girard has now guided his team to victory in their six of their last seven league games, which has launched them into second place in Ligue 1.
The French striker scored his first goal in the 26th minute, nudging home from close range after Monaco failed to deal with Florent Balmont's corner.
His second came from a fast counter-attack, in which Salomon Kalou and Rio Mavuba combined to leave him with a simple tap-in after Vincent Enyeama had made a huge save down the other end moments earlier.
Emmanuele Riviere and Radamel Falcao had both wasted chances to get the visitors back on level terms before Enyeama made a brilliant double stop to deny the Colombian striker in the last minute.
It is the first time that the Monegasque club have tasted defeat in the league this season.
