Sports Mole previews the third-round FA Cup tie between Premier League side Aston Villa and Blackpool of the Championship.

Blackpool will be keen to cause an upset and end their run of four matches without a win when they travel to Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend.

Lee Clark's side has been boosted by the return to training of Henry Cameron and Gary MacKenzie this week, while Steven Davies has said that he will be fit, despite struggling with a neck injury.

Donervon Daniels will not be in the squad though, as the defender has returned to parent club West Bromwich Albion after making 19 appearances in his loan spell with the Seasiders, while Jacob Murphy has been sent back to Norwich City after criticising the club on social media.

Blackpool have been beyond the third round just once since the 1989-90 season, exiting in the fifth round following defeat to Everton in 2012.

Meanwhile, Paul Lambert will almost certainly have to make changes to his side as they prepare to face the Championship side on Sunday.

Club captain Ron Vlaar needs a scan to determine the extent of the knee injury that forced him to limp out of the side's draw with Crystal Palace on New Year's Day.

Ashley Westwood, Nathan Baker and Libor Kozak all remain sidelined with injuries, while Fabian Delph is still serving a suspension following a red card last month.

Villa have been in mixed form heading into this match, losing just once in their last five, but also winning only one of their last six matches.

Lambert will be hoping that his side can avoid a repeat of last season, when the team were knocked out by lower league opponents Sheffield United in the third round.

When these two sides last played, the match ended in a 1-1 draw at Bloomfield Road in 2011.
