Sports Mole previews the FA Cup fourth-round encounter between Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is aware that he will come under increasing pressure in the West Midlands if his side can't record a positive result against Bournemouth in the FA Cup fourth round.

Throughout the season his side's performance in front of goal has come under scrutiny, and after just two goals in seven games, they can't afford to falter in the final third on Sunday afternoon.

Lambert's defence have proven effective - just five goals have been conceded over the same period - but the club's supporters are starting to vent their frustration in large numbers after the club's poor form.

Midfielder Carles Gil, a recent arrival from Valencia, is expected to be handed his first start, while Shay Given should continue to deputise for Brad Guzan in cup competition.

Andreas Weimann, who started on the bench against Liverpool last weekend, may also earn a recall to add an extra player in attack.

Bournemouth have caused one of the biggest surprises in English football this season by topping the Championship table but they travel to Villa Park having lost two of their last three games.

However, those results are considered minor blips and Eddie Howe will be confident that his team can cause an upset against the Premier League outfit.

Howe may opt to rotate a couple of his starting lineup, with midfield duo Dan Gosling and Junior Stanislas, who both have top-flight experience, in contention to feature from the opening whistle.

Bournemouth will be keen to inflict Villa's second cup defeat to lower opposition this season after Leyton Orient beat them in the League Cup during the first month of the campaign.

Aston Villa:
