Aston Villa caretaker manager Eric Black has insisted that the club will bounce back from their impending relegation from the Premier League.
The Villans were given a stay of execution despite losing an eighth match in a row on Saturday as Bournemouth ran out 2-1 winners at Villa Park.
However, Villa are 15 points from safety with as many left to play for this season, and Black acknowledges that it will be a "mighty challenge" for them in the Championship next term.
"I am sure this club will one day come back. It's going to be a mighty challenge, an enormous challenge. I went down once with Birmingham and we came straight back up," he told reporters.
"But, my goodness, it's a hard challenge. It's a huge turnaround at a club and it's a different division. It's a sombre mood, as you would imagine.
"It's been a difficult season for everyone concerned at the club. We're not relegated as yet but we're not far off."
Villa have never before been relegated from the Premier League.
