Steven Gerrard has handed a surprise recall to Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings for Saturday's Premier League fixture against Everton.
Last weekend, Gerrard suggested that his former captain, who was stripped of the responsibility earlier in the summer, was not doing enough to earn a place in the team.
However, on the back of his comments being heavily debated on social media, Gerrard has opted to select the England international alongside Diego Carlos.
Ollie Watkins has also been drafted into the starting lineup as a replacement for Leon Bailey, the expectation being that he will feature on the flank with Danny Ings playing down the middle.
As expected, Conor Coady has been handed an immediate debut in the Everton back three after signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this week.
Mason Holgate is also included with Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina set to spend a period on the sidelines through injury.
The remainder of the team from the defeat to Chelsea remains the same, with fellow new arrival Amadou Onana only beginning the contest among the replacements.
Salomon Rondon, who missed out last weekend through suspension, is also named on the substitutes' bench with Demarai Gray retaining his spot in the final third.
