Sassuolo have ended a run of three consecutive defeats in Serie A by beating Atalanta BC 2-0 at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri in Bergamo this afternoon.
German Denis came close to giving the hosts an early lead, but saw his fierce close-range effort saved by Gianluca Pegolo.
The Nerazzurri continued to threaten and Giuseppe De Luca fired in a strike from the edge of the box that was again kept out by Pegolo.
Sassuolo then took the lead in the 33rd minute when Nicola Sansone latched onto a loose ball inside the box, before drilling a low shot across Andrea Consigli and into the bottom corner.
After the break Domenico Berardi tried his luck from distance, but failed to hit the target with his powerful attempt.
In the 71st minute the visitors doubled their lead after Sansone's free kick from out wide was missed by everyone in the box and ended up in the back of the net.
Atalanta struggled to create any chances and could not find a way back into the match, as their six-game winning run in the league came to an end.
