Cagliari have gone three points clear of the relegation zone in Serie A with a 1-1 draw with Atalanta away from home.
The game was delayed by 30 minutes because of snow and ice and kicked off only after an inspection from officials.
Ivo Pulga's side made the breakthrough in the second minute when Michele Canini put the ball inside his own goal.
Canini could have redeemed himself nine minutes later but saw his shot from close range parried away by Michael Agazzi.
Atalanta continued to maintain their pressure as the first half progressed, Giacomo Bonaventura, Maximiliano Moralez, Luca Cigarini and Marco Sau all trying their luck but in vain.
The home side's pressure eventually paid off in the 57th minute when Guglielmo Stendardo headed home Cigarini's delivery from close range.
The Bergamo outfit had the better chances in the second half but finished the game with 10 men, as Luigi Giorgi was dismissed in the 79th minute for a second bookable offence.
