Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia has insisted that disappointment in the final of the Champions League last season did not taint their achievements.
The capital outfit won their first La Liga title since 1996 last term, in addition to making the final of the European Cup.
Diego Simeone's side eventually lost 4-1 in the final to Real Madrid, but Garcia has insisted that it will still go down as a brilliant campaign for the club.
"The last taste in our mouths cannot tarnish what we've done throughout the season. We're happy with that and we're convinced that next season, we'll compete just as well," he told the club's official website.
"It's not just in La Liga, but also what we've done in the Champions League that we have to value positively. It was our first year back playing in the competition, with all the enthusiasm we had for it, reaching the final and almost having the trophy in our hands.
"That's something to rate highly, despite not ending up with that sweet taste in our mouths in the end."
Garcia scored 18 times for Atletico last season.
