Kieran Trippier has said that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak produced an "incredible" performance against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Defending a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, Oblak helped keep Liverpool at bay before the Spanish giants netted three times during extra time to earn a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Speaking after the match at Anfield, Tripper heaped praise on his teammate, while also suggesting that he was no longer surprised by the heroics of the stopper.
The right-back is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "I can't speak highly enough about Jan. For me, he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
"It is not just tonight. There have been so many games this season where he has pulled some saves off and I have thought to myself 'how did you do that?!' He is such a big player for us as you saw tonight the saves he pulled off were incredible."
Atletico joined RB Leipzig, Atalanta BC and Paris Saint-Germain in earning a place in the last eight of the competition.
