Atletico Madrid have eased rumours that Leo Baptistao could be out of action until 2014.
The Brazilian, who joined Atletico from Rayo Vallecano in the summer, limped out of his side's friendly with Cordoba on Thursday evening with an ankle sprain.
Initial reports had claimed that the 21-year-old could miss the rest of the year, but Atletico have described his injury as "a mild sprain".
It is understood that the youngster will therefore return to training next week.
