Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each individual player performed during Atletico Madrid's 2-0 La Liga win over Real Sociedad.

Antoine Griezmann was on target against his former club as Atletico Madrid beat Real Sociedad 2-0 in La Liga on Tuesday.

The Frenchman scored Atletico's second of the match after Mikel Gonzalez had headed past his own goalkeeper early on.

Atletico are now just two points behind second-placed Real Madrid, while Sociedad remain in 10th spot.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each individual player performed in Madrid.

ATLETICO

Goal

Jan Oblak: Did not have much to do until the very latter stages, when he made an absolutely outstanding save to deny Esteban Granero. Has been in excellent form since replacing the injured Miguel Moya. (7/10)

Defence

Jesus Gamez: Switched from left-back to right-back and did so with minimum fuss. Was a squad player at the start of the season, but has worked his way into the XI in recent weeks. (7/10)

Miranda: Returned from suspension to partner Jose Gimenez at centre-back. Read the game excellently and made a number of crucial challenges, especially in the second period. (7/10)

Jose Gimenez: Continues to impress at the heart of the Atletico back four. Headed absolutely everything and played a crucial role in nullifying Sociedad's attacking threat. (7/10)

Guilherme Siqueira: Has been forced to watch from the sidelines in recent weeks, but returned here. Had a decent game at the back, but was a little wasteful in possession of the ball. (6/10)

Midfield

Mario Suarez: Has been given plenty of football in recent weeks, but is just struggling to find his best form. Was a little wasteful in possession on more than one occasion. (6/10)

Koke: Set up Atletico's first of the match and played a key role in their second. Still just 23, but the Spaniard is already his team's most important player. (7/10)

Tiago: Had a super game in the middle of the park. Never relinquished possession and demonstrated his wonderful range of passing. A real class act for the hosts. (8/10)

Attack

Antoine Griezmann: Scored against his former club after 10 minutes when he converted from close range. A real live-wire in attack once again for the La Liga champions. (7/10)

Fernando Torres: Put in plenty of work as he occupied the Sociedad defence, but the Spaniard did not have too much in the way of opportunities at the Vicente Calderon. (6/10)

Arda Turan: Might have opened the scoring after just two minutes, but saw his powerful strike hit the post. Kept things moving in a wide area and as always, worked hard for the team. (7/10)

Substitutes

Raul Jimenez: Has not had too many starts for Atletico this season, but the Mexican came on for the final 30 minutes here and caused problems with his presence in the final third. (6/10)

Saul Niguez: Replaced Turan for the final five minutes, but hardly had a touch. (5/10)

Gabi: Only on the field for two minutes. (5/10)

SOCIEDAD

Goal

Geronimo Rulli: Has been in excellent form in recent weeks, but the Argentine was at fault for Atletico's second - parrying a Koke strike straight into the path of Griezmann. (5/10)

Defence

Joseba Zaldua: Was always willing to break forward, but the Spaniard's delivery was a little disappointing. Will have learned a lot from facing the classy Turan. (6/10)

Gorka Elustondo: Slotted into centre-back as Sociedad boss David Moyes rung the changes, but the Spaniard was part of a defence that struggled to cope in the early minutes. (6/10)

Mikel Gonzalez: Headed a Koke corner into his own net as Atletico took the lead inside two minutes. Has not played too much football in recent weeks and it showed. (5/10)

Yuri Berchiche: Usually such a threat in the final third, but the full-back did not have too many chances to break forward here. Decent enough defensively though. (6/10)

Midfield

Sergio Canales: Showed bits and pieces in the final third, but the Spaniard never really got into the game and was his side's first player to be replaced. (5/10)

Ruben Pardo: Scored a stunner against Malaga last time out, but could not make his mark this time around. Worked hard in a central area, but nothing much came off. (6/10)

Markel Bergara: Brought into the XI to provide some steel, but like a number of his teammates, the midfielder struggled early on. Grew into the match though. (6/10)

Xabi Prieto: Had Sociedad's first attempt on target, but it was a fairly routine save for Oblak. Always willing to take control in tight areas, but he needed more from those around him. (6/10)

David Zurutuza: Given a rare start in a wide area, but nothing much came off for the Spaniard, who was replaced in a double change 15 minutes from time. (5/10)

Attack

Chory Castro: Given the lone striking role, but it was a real struggle for the attacker. Had one long-range attempt in the first period, but that was just about it. (5/10)

Substitutes

Imanol Agirretxe: Thrown on for the final 15 minutes as Moyes went two up top, but the Spaniard struggled to make his mark such was Atletico's control. (5/10)

Alfred Finnbogason: Hasn't happened for the forward following his summer move from Dutch football and that was again the case this evening. (5/10)

Esteban Granero: Thought that he had registered late on with a super free kick, but the midfielder saw his effort pushed behind by the Atletico goalkeeper. (6/10)
