Cristian Rodriguez has admitted that he needs to leave Atletico Madrid this summer in order to secure regular first-team football.
The Uruguay international was part of an Atletico squad that won La Liga and reached the final of the Champions League last season.
However, the experienced attacker featured mainly from the bench, despite being a favourite of head coach Diego Simeone.
"What I want now is to play. I was the champion of the league and a finalist in the Champions League, but when you don't play, it's a different taste. I feel like the cup is not so deserved because I didn't play," he told Sport 890.
"Every players wants to play and what I want is that can give me more minutes, where I can be a starter, a team that relies more on me. If I stay another year, the same thing is going to repeat itself and my idea is to leave."
Rodriguez, 28, moved to Atletico from Porto in 2012, but has scored just two league goals for the capital outfit.
A number of European clubs are believed to be monitoring proceedings.
