AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri rules Thiago Silva out of the club's Champions League double-header with Barcelona.

AC Milan defender Thiago Silva will miss both legs of the club's Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona with a muscular problem.

The 27-year-old suffered the knock in Milan's 2-1 win over Roma on Saturday, with coach Massimiliano Allegri confirming that the defender will miss the next four weeks with the complaint.

The Brazilian has reportedly suffered an injury to the biceps femoris of the right thigh, and will consequently miss at least six matches.

Silva has made 36 appearances for Milan this season.
