Barcelona will be aiming to book their spot in the last-16 stage of the Copa del Rey when they tackle fourth-tier outfit Barbastro on Sunday evening.

The Catalan giants recorded a 2-1 win over Las Palmas in La Liga on Thursday, with the result moving Xavi's side back into third position in the table.

The reigning champions looked to be sharing the points with Las Palmas, as the two teams were level heading into the final exchanges, only for Ilkay Gundogan to decide the contest from the penalty spot in the 93rd minute.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Barbastro, who are one of only two four-tier teams left in this season's Copa del Rey.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: Unknown

Ter Stegen had to withdraw from the Germany squad over the November international break due to a back problem, and he has since undergone an operation which will keep him out until at least March.

Gavi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi suffered an ACL injury while representing Spain over the November international break, and the midfielder is now set to be missing for the remainder of the campaign.

Marcos Alonso

Status: Out
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: Unknown

Alonso is facing more time on the sidelines, having been forced to undergo an operation on a troublesome back problem, and he will be missing until the middle of March at the earliest.

Inigo Martinez

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 7 (vs. Barbastro)

Martinez picked up a hamstring issue in the warm-up ahead of Barcelona's La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid in December, but he has stepped up his recovery and has a slight chance of being involved in this game.

Pedri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona will again be without the services of Pedri for this match due to a muscular problem, and it is unclear at this stage when the midfielder will be back on the field.

Joao Cancelo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona will be missing Cancelo on Sunday due to the knee injury which forced him off against Las Palmas on Thursday, and it has been confirmed as an MCL strain.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Lamine Yamal

Status: Out
Possible return date: January 11 (vs. Osasuna)

Yamal is unavailable for selection through suspension this weekend, but the youngster will be back for the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup against Osasuna.
