Barcelona will be aiming to make it six straight wins in all competitions when they continue their 2024-25 campaign with a La Liga fixture against Espanyol on Sunday afternoon.

Hansi Flick's side will enter the Catalan derby off the back of an incredible 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clasico, with the result moving them six points clear at the top of the La Liga table.

Barcelona have scored 21 times in their last five matches in all competitions, while they have already managed 37 goals in Spain's top flight during an impressive campaign to date.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Espanyol, who sit 17th in the division, picking up 10 points from their opening 11 matches of the season.


Ronald Araujo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 26 (vs. Brest)

Araujo will again miss out for Barcelona against Espanyol, but the centre-back has revealed that he is making excellent progress in his recovery from a hamstring operation, with his return set to come before the end of November.


Andreas Christensen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: November 10 (vs. Real Sociedad)

Christensen remains on the treatment table with an Achilles problem, but the Denmark international is said to be in the latter stages of his recovery, with a return to action potentially occurring before the November international break.


Marc Bernal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Bernal suffered an ACL injury against Rayo Vallecano in the league earlier this term, and he is out for the season, with the youngster working to be ready for pre-season ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.


Marc-Andre ter Stegen
