Barcelona will be aiming to make it six successive wins at the start of their 2024-25 La Liga campaign when they head to Villarreal on Sunday night.

Hansi Flick's side have made a 100% start to their domestic season, collecting 15 points from five matches to sit at the top of the table, four points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid.

However, the Catalan giants will enter this match off the back of a loss, having been beaten 2-1 by Monaco in their Champions League league-phase opener on Thursday evening.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's clash with Villarreal, who are fourth in the table on 11 points.

Dani Olmo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona will be without the services of Olmo for at least the next month due to the hamstring problem that he suffered during the team's 4-1 success over Girona last weekend.

Ronald Araujo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Araujo will be on the sidelines until the latter stages of this year due to the hamstring operation that he underwent in the middle of July.

Frenkie de Jong

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 25 (vs. Getafe)

De Jong is now in the final stages of his recovery from a long-term ankle problem, and there is a chance that the Netherlands international could be back against Getafe on September 25.

Gavi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi continues to recover from the serious knee injury that he suffered while representing Spain towards the end of last year, but he has recently been able to take part in first-team training sessions.

Andreas Christensen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: Unknown

Christensen is currently on the treatment table with an Achilles problem, and it is understood that the Denmark international will not be available until the start of November.

Marc Bernal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Bernal, 17, suffered an ACL injury in the latter stages of the recent league game against Rayo Vallecano, and he is now expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Fermin Lopez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Fermin suffered a fresh thigh problem during a training session earlier this week, and the Spain international will be on the sidelines for at least another couple of weeks.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Ferran Torres

Status: Out
Possible return date: September 25 (vs. Getafe)

Barcelona will be without the services of Torres on Sunday, with the Spain international suspended due to the red card that he picked up in the 4-1 win over Girona last weekend.
