Sergio Busquets has suggested that Barcelona have won the most important trophy of their season after they were crowned La Liga champions.
The Blaugrana secured the title courtesy of a victory away to Atletico Madrid, with Lionel Messi scoring the decisive goal for Luis Enrique's men.
However, despite hailing the prestige of lifting the Champions League, Busquets believes that the domestic championship is the key accolade to win.
"La Liga is the most important - we play against everyone home and away," Busquets was quoted as saying by AS. "The Champions League is more prestigious but this is more important. Last year we struggled a lot, we weren't at the right level to be champions.
"This year we're on the right track. This is the first bit. Now it's time to celebrate because it's the hardest competition. You play against everyone. You can't win every year but there is no end to this cycle. We are a very young team. This is an historic day.
"Now we have one title but we are missing two. It's an historic season."
Barca can complete a treble if they see off Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final and beat Juventus to lift the Champions League.
