River Plate defender Eder Alvarez has revealed that he would be "very proud" to join Barcelona.
It is understood that the 20-year-old has attracted the interest of the Spanish champions, who are on the lookout for a new central defender.
He told Sport: "As far as I know, there hasn't been a Colombian playing for Barcelona. I would be the first one in the history of the club. If it's true, I would be very proud. If it's not, I will try to keep doing things like I have done up until now.
"I have played a few games in the first division and I have to keep going this way - working hard, doing things correctly with effort and sacrifice, in the same way as all of my teammates."
However, River vice-president Omar Solassi has revealed that the Catalan outfit will have to part with £13m to secure his services.
