Barcelona have reportedly held talks with former midfielder Xavi regarding the possibility of becoming the club's next permanent manager.
Ernesto Valverde, now in his third season at Camp Nou, is under pressure following the club's poor performances in the Champions League knockout phases under his leadership.
Xavi, a legend of the club, is currently the manager of Qatari side Al Sadd having retired from playing last year.
According to RAC1, sporting director Eric Abidal and CEO Oscar Grau met with the former player on Friday to discuss the position.
Xavi, who joined the club's famous La Masia academy aged 11, made 767 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions, winning 17 major trophies in the process.
