Juventus are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo during the summer transfer window.

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Juventus.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a productive campaign at Camp Nou, making a total of 32 appearances for the Catalan giants in all competitions.

However, with just over a year remaining on the Uruguay international's contract, Barcelona face a battle to retain the centre-back's services on a long-term basis.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus are admirers of Araujo at a time when they are looking to strengthen their options in the middle of their backline.

The Serie A outfit are already said to be eager to sign Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger, and it is suggested that the plan is to sign both players if the finances are available.

Aware that Barcelona are keen to sign at least one new defender on a free transfer, Araujo may be prepared to bide his time before making a final decision on the future.
