Lautaro Martinez has revealed that he is hopeful of penning a new long-term contract at Inter Milan.
The Argentina international was once regarded as a long-term target for Barcelona, who had identified the forward as a replacement for Luis Suarez.
With the Catalan giants unable to afford the 23-year-old, Martinez has gone on to contribute 11 goals in all competitions during the current campaign.
Martinez is now keen to repay the faith shown in him by head coach Antonio Conte by committing his future to the club.
Speaking to DAZN, the player said: "We're looking into a contract renewal at Inter. I'm happy here, the club have always held themselves well with me.
"Antonio Conte has confidence in me. I'm trying to give my all, then everything else will fall into place."
Martinez had also been linked with a transfer to the Premier League before remaining with Inter in the summer.
