Sports Mole

Barracas Central and Patronato draw the curtain on round of 10 of the 2022 Argentine Primera Division season with their clash at the Claudio Fabian Tapia.

The home side are looking to avoid suffering a fourth consecutive loss, wHile their visitors go in search of a third victory on the bounce.

Match preview

Patronato saw off the challenge of Tigre in a narrow 1-0 triumph at the Estadio Presbitero Bartolome Grella in Parana on Wednesday evening.

Off the back of a drab opening 45 minutes, Francisco Alvarez broke the deadlock in the early stages of the second half to hand Facundo Sava's men all three points.

El Patron now sit 11th in the league table and will be looking to continue their surge up the standings by keeping their good run going.

Coming up next is a first-ever meeting against an opposing outfit who recently gained promotion to the top flight after a lengthy absence.

Having recently secured a first away win since May, Wednesday's visitors now seek to record back-to-back wins on the road for the first time in over a year.

Barracas Central fell to a 3-1 defeat against Estudiantes La Plata when the sides faced off at the Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi on Wednesday.

Alfredo Berti's men went behind to Leandro Diaz's opener but managed to restore parity before the interval through Ivan Tapia, only for second-half goals from Benjamin Rollheiser and Pablo Piatti to decide the contest.

With nine points picked up from as many matches so far, Los Camioneros have moved up to 22nd in the league table, three points shy of a top-half spot.

Currently with the worst defensive record on home turf, Wednesday's hosts will need to keep it tight at the back if they are to avoid a fifth defeat in their last six home outings.

Team News

Nicolas Ferreyra missed Barracas Central's defeat to Estudiantes last time out, and the defender is a huge doubt for Wednesday's encounter.

The Argentine duo of Facundo Castro and Daniel Martinez remain unavailable for the home side through ankle and thigh injuries respectively.

Fabio Vazquez is a guaranteed absentee for Patronato as the 28-year-old is yet to feature this term due to a long-term knee problem.

Midfielder Matias Pardo is also facing an extended spell on the sidelines with an anterior cruciate ligament injury which he suffered back in December.

Barracas Central possible starting lineup:
Gagliardo; Blasi, Ferreyra, Paz, Diaz; Mater, Arce, Calderara; Tapia, Bandiera, Sepulveda

Patronato possible starting lineup:
Altamirano; Kruspzky, Quintana, Mosevich, Lozano; Medina, Castro, Leys, Acevedo; Herrera, Rodriguez

We say: Barracas Central 1-2 Patronato

Patronato are on a high heading into this one, and they will back themselves to get the job done against an out-of-sorts Barracas Central side. We are tipping the away side to come away with all three points come the sound of the final whistle.
