Lille have been knocked out of the Coupe de France having suffered a 2-0 defeat against Bastia at the Stade Armand Cesari this evening.
The hosts were ahead inside five minutes when Floyd Ayite capitalised on an error to put his side into an early lead.
Ayite added a second before the interval by lashing the ball into the far corner, leaving Steeve Elana with little chance of keeping it out.
Lille came close to falling further behind on 51 minutes when Elana was called into action to push a goalbound effort away from danger, but it was not to matter in the end with Les Dogues failing to create any real openings of their own.
Bastia, who are currently six places behind Lille in the Ligue 1 table, managed to successfully see the remainder of the game out to ensure that their name is in the hat for the last 16 of the competition.
