Bayer Leverkusen have left it late to inflict the second comeback defeat on Stuttgart in less than a week with a 2-1 victory in the Bundesliga.
The visitors pressed high up the field early on and won a number of free kicks in the opening 10 minutes, but Rani Khedira's blocked shot was the only chance they managed.
However, on 12 minutes Stuttgart did get the goal that they deserved. Moritz Leitner fired an effort from distance with his weaker left foot and found the top corner.
The goal seemed to kick Bayer into life, and they were level on 26 minutes when Stefan Kiessling fired in a high finish after taking control of the ball in the box.
Son Heung-Min had a couple of chances to score for Leverkusen before the break, but he put one wide and saw his other effort well saved by Sven Ulreich.
Both sides had chances to win, but in the end it was the two substitutes who combined, as Eren Derdiyok headed in the winner from Sidney Sam's cross with five minutes to play.
