Bayer Leverkusen have risen to the challenge of Hannover in the Bundesliga and have beaten them 3-1.
Leverkusen started brightly and went ahead through Jens Hegeler, who was set up by Andre Schurrle to finish low inside the box.
Hegeler and Schurrle then both had shots saved as the hosts pushed for a second goal.
It came midway through the half as Daniel Carvajal put a cross on to the head of Stefan Kiessling, who made no mistake with his finish.
The hosts' scoring was done done there, however, as Hegeler added his second with a snap-shot finish after being found by Lars Bender.
Artur Sobiech latched on to a loose ball to fire a goal back for his side, but with 20 minutes to go it was a big ask.
There were no more goals and Leverkusen ran out comfortable winners.
