Newcastle United have reportedly been told to fork out £83m to secure the signature of Bayer Leverkusen attacker Moussa Diaby.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a prolific season with the Bundesliga giants in 2021-22, scoring 15 goals and setting up nine more in 31 appearances across all tournaments.
Diaby's form has unsurprisingly attracted glances from clubs across Europe, with Newcastle rumoured to have been preparing a bid of £50m to try to prise him away from Leverkusen.
However, L'Equipe claims that the German side are reluctant to part ways with the France international for less than €100m (£83m) given his stellar performances this term.
Furthermore, Leverkusen are under little pressure to negotiate with interested parties, as Diaby's deal does not expire until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Diaby rose through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain before heading for Leverkusen in the summer of 2019, and the attacker now has 33 goals and 32 assists from 113 games for the Eternal Bridesmaids. body check tags ::
