Bayern Munich have taken a 2-0 lead against CSKA Moscow in the first half of their Champions League Group D clash at the Allianz Arena.
Pep Guardiola's side surged ahead after just three minutes through David Alaba, who scored with a direct free kick.
Thomas Muller and Mario Mandzukic combined just three minutes later to try to put Bayern 2-0 up, but Igor Akinfeev made a good save.
Bayern had another good chance to double their advantage on 14 minutes when Mandzukic climbed highest to an Alaba cross, but the striker's header went over the CSKA crossbar.
The defending European champions were denied by the frame of the visitors' goal in the 37th minute when Mandzukic's header came back off the far post.
However, there was no stopping the 27-year-old Croatian striker three minutes later as he headed home Arjen Robben's free kick.
