Robert Lewandowski has criticised the tactics which were used by Nico Kovac during Bayern Munich's defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.
Bayern went into the second leg knowing that victory would be enough to eliminate last season's runners-up from the competition, but the Bundesliga outfit succumbed to a 3-1 defeat in front of their own supporters.
Lewandowski rarely posed a threat in either match with the Premier League giants, and the Poland international has taken aim at the strategy used by his manager.
The 30-year-old is quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying: "In both games we played too defensive. We didn't try to push forward to create situations – in the first game and tonight.
"We were playing too deep, we didn't take risks to try to score the goals, I don't know why."
Bayern will now focus their attention on trying to retain the Bundesliga title.
