Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez has urged his teammates not to underestimate Valencia when the two sides clash in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Bavarian giants will open their Group F account with a home game against the Spanish outfit.
"I know [Valencia] very well and I've played them quite a few times," Martinez told Bayern's official website. "They'll definitely push us hard because they have a great team.
"They are very balanced, they have plenty of pace, they put opponents under pressure, and they're very well set-up tactically."
Martinez, who joined Bayern from Athletic Bilbao in the summer, also underlined the importance of starting their European campaign with a win.
"I've never played in the Champions League before," said the 24-year-old. "It's an important match for us.
"Bayern made it to the final last season, and we're among the favourites for the competition, so we obviously want to make a successful start."
In the other Group F game on Wednesday, Lille host BATE Borisov.
