Thomas Muller has pulled Bayern Munich back to 1-1 against Hoffenheim after Kevin Volland opened the scoring in nine seconds at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.
It was a superb start for the hosts as Bayern were left stunned just moments after kickoff when David Alaba's sloppy back pass gifted possession to Kevin Volland, who capitalised to slot past Manuel Neuer.
Bayern threatened to hit back quickly when Douglas Costa sent a tame effort straight at Oliver Baumann, before the Brazilian found the side-netting with a far better strike just a few moments later.
Despite continuing to dominate possession, Bayern were finding it difficult to create space as Hoffenheim defended impressively to keep the likes of Muller and Arjen Robben quiet for much of the first half.
However, poor marking almost gifted the visitors an equaliser when Baumann saved from a Muller header, before the forward threatened again by hitting the post with a powerful effort.
Long spells of Bayern pressure finally produced a reward before the interval when Baumann could only push a Costa effort into the path of Muller, who tapped in the equaliser from close range.
