Bayern Munich have taken a 1-0 lead into half time of their Bundesliga encounter with Bayer Leverkusen.
The only chance during a quiet opening 15 minutes fell to Thiago Alcantara, but his long-range strike was weak and never threatening Bernd Leno's goal.
The half continued along the same pattern, with Leverkusen doing an effective job in restricting their hosts to speculative attempts, but on 26 minutes, Bayern went in front when Thomas Muller was on hand to convert from close range after being found by Douglas Costa.
Four minutes later, the Bundesliga champions were almost two goals to the good through the impressive Costa, who drilled a shot towards goal from inside the area that ricocheted off the post and bounced clear.
Bayern looked comfortable, but shortly before the break, Hakan Calhanoglu almost found a surprise equaliser for Leverkusen, only to see his free kick cannon back off the crossbar.
