Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso has talked up the importance of the Bavarian side's ability to retain possession.
The German champions have so far put together nine victories from nine Bundesliga games this campaign, and Alonso has insisted that keeping hold of the ball has been key to winning games.
"I think we have more possession than our opponents in at least 90% of the matches," Alonso said in an interview with the club's official website.
"When you control the ball you control the game. Most teams drop deep in their own half against us, waiting to launch counter-attacks. You have to be a little patient and wear your opponents out."
Bayern are aiming to bounce straight back from their Champions League defeat to Arsenal when they face FC Koln on Saturday.
